As part of his Masters Degree, our good friend Bruno Taylor (creative mastermind) explored the subject of “how play is provided in public space”. The result is Playful Spaces – a beautiful piece of inspirational cinematography.

The shoot was located at the Exmouth Markets near Holborn, London, UK. Keep up the good work Bru.

Looking to save a dollar or two in 2009? Take a leaf out of The Get Out Clause’s book. The band from Manchester couldn’t afford to make a video for their debut single so they looked for an alternative means.

The band very cleverly positioned themselves in front of different CCTV cameras around the city while performing their single Paper.

After writing to the council and asking for copies of the footage (under UK privacy protection law, if you request CCTV camera footage and pay a nominal fee they are legally obliged to supply it), they edited the hours of CCTV content to create their music video.

A prime example of being creative with the tools (and budget) available… nice moves!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… outtakes from Durex’s Get It On viral ad campaign.

As a Sydney-sider it’s hard to imagine the enormity of the bushfires that have so devastatingly swept through rural Victoria until someone forwards you an image such as the one displayed above (reference: wikipedia). The image depicts the smoke plume as it makes its way from Victoria, across the Tasman, to the South Island of New Zealand.

Over the last couple of years we have seen the introduction and rise of a security device against unwanted spam called CAPTCHA. As I am sure many of you are aware, this device simply allows websites, blogs & forums to protect their integrity against SPAMBOTS by requiring human visual authentication via the entry of a warped image code as verification before the message is sent. It was only a matter of time before we saw an uprising against such security and unfortunately that day has now come. There are a number of Indian and Russian companies (where SPAM laws are more relaxed) with incredibly vast networks of cheap labor that offer up to as many as 250,000 cracked CAPTCHA’s per day for SPAMMERS to continue their bombardment of our lives … – Click here to find out more
