Woodstock Experience!
November 1st, 2008

StudioEmotion, as a result of our growth in 2008 we gave a fond farewell to our studio in Milson’s Point and moved into the Heritage listed ‘Woodstock Cottage’ in North Sydney.  We’ll miss the harbour side views, but this new establishment offers a much more creative and dynamic workspace to accommodate our ever-growing list of services. If you have not already come to visit us, we would like to invite you down and part of the Woodstock experience and view our digital credentials. To setup a meeting, please call Mathew Ashley on 1300660683 or e-mail: mat@studioemotion.com.au

Studio News – August Edition
August 19th, 2008

Well, since we last sent out a newsletter it’s been an uncompromising schedule of helter-skelter, backs against the wall, project to project madness.  With animations, keynote presentations, video productions, voice recordings, exhibitions and product launches there has scarcely been a moment to catch our breath – let alone attend to our faithful readers with a regular news update! And for that; we apologise.  There are many stories to tell, far too many to fill one humble newsletter such as this. (more…)

Jack Daniels – 2nd Anual Music Awards
May 12th, 2005

StudioEmotion created the graphics for the 2nd Annual Jack Awards which rocked the Seymour Centre in Sydney on Tuesday May 10th when it rolled out the black carpet in celebration of the Australian live music industry.

The 800 industry guests were treated to masses of free booze courtesy of Jack Daniels but also to some damn fine live performances from local acts such as Eskimo Joe, The Living End, Spiderbait, The Cops, and an “All Star Jam” featuring Katy Steele (Little Birdy), Andy Strachan (The Living End), Ben Ely (Regurgitator) and Justin Burford (End Of Fashion).

Eskimo JoeOn the awards front, Eskimo Joe picked up the big award for Best Band, which surprised many who were expecting Jet to clean up. Special international guest Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) presented the award to the highly chuffed band while he also presented the Best Drummer Award to Kram from Spiderbait.

Other winners included: Phil Jamieson – Grinspoon (Best Male), Katy Steele – Little Birdy (Best Female), Chris Cheney – The Living End (Best Lead Guitar), Scott Owen – The Living End (Best Bass Guitar), Missy Higgins (Best Newcomer) and Homebake was awarded the Gentleman Jack Award. Some of the antics displayed by the presenters on the night also deserved awards.

Katy SteeleTommy Lee made a grand entrance when he showered the crowd with the contents of his two water pistols – which, you guessed it, contained Jack Daniels. Sarah McLeod must have been on the receiving end of a mouthful judging by her lively presentation of the best female award to Katy Steele (Little Birdy). And Glenn A Baker’s never-ending speech seemed to coincide with the night’s peak toilet break period. Meanwhile, host Jabba mocked Sydney’s Wolfmother all night after they walked away without a single award – despite receiving multiple nominations.

With over 110,000 votes cast in this publicly voted event, it showed that the Australian live music scene is crackling with passion, energy and innovation. The Awards will be back in 2006.
